In an inspiring demonstration of dedication and empowerment, students from the Boneza Sector in Rwanda’s Rutsiro District have taken a leading role in the Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) project. This initiative, led by the Organization for Support to Environment Protection and Climate Change Adaptation (OSEPCCA-NGO), has not only advanced the restoration of local ecosystems but also fostered a culture of sustainability among young boys and girls in rural school communities.
Sustainability of Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) is achievable, particularly by fostering a sense of responsibility in children. This can be realized through their active participation in tree planting initiatives. In schools, children have taken the lead in planting agroforestry and fruit trees, which not only contribute to landscape restoration but also enhance nutrition within their communities.
